American Airlines needed a webpage within their website to increase bookings of their ski destinations. We presented the concept "Winter Sports Spot" of making this page a 'ski destination' in itself – a resource page that anyone looking to take a ski trip would bookmark and return frequently. To do this, we created a page with many interactive components – including an interactive quiz on ski and snowboard terms, live webcams to check current snow conditions at the featured ski destinations, cool winter sports links, as well as airport codes of the numerous ski resorts. Not only did the Winter Sports Spot webpage increase bookings for American Airlines, it won the 2001 DFWIMA Excellence In Interactive Marketing Award and the 2002 San Francisco • Chicago • New York @d:Tech Award.
